About the Artist

Christina K. Hansen (b. 1987, King City, California) is a California-based portrait artist currently living and working in Porterville, California. Raised in a close-knit family and deeply rooted in the Central Valley, Christina draws inspiration from the people and relationships that have shaped her life. Themes of connection, presence, and individuality continue to inform her artistic practice.

Christina developed a serious interest in art at the age of eighteen, quickly dedicating herself to disciplined study and experimentation across multiple mediums. Her early exploration included traditional drawing, watercolor, ink, clay sculpture, photography, digital painting, and photo-manipulation. Over time, her focus refined toward representational work and, ultimately, portraiture.

She began her formal training in 2015 at Porterville College, where she declared a major in Commercial Art. In 2018, Christina graduated with honors, earning an Associate of Arts degree in Commercial Art, a 4.0 GPA within her major, and the Medal of Distinction in Art.

Christina has been an active member of the regional arts community, participating in organizations such as the Lindsay Art Association and the Kings Art Center. Her work has received recognition in multiple exhibitions, including the Lindsay Orange Blossom Festival Art Show (2015–2018, 2024, 2025) and the Porterville Art Association’s Judged Show (2016, 2017).

For the past two years, Christina has dedicated herself to the art of portraiture. Beginning with intimate graphite and ink studies, she now works primarily in acrylic paint, focusing on capturing both likeness and the emotional presence of her subjects.
