8x10 portrait painting is $300

11x14 portrait painting is $530

Framing and varnishing of the artwork is included in the cost of the commission.

A non-refundable deposit is required upfront and is equal to half the cost of the commission. The remainder is due at completion of the artwork.

Payment(s) will be processed through PayPal, Apple Pay, Cash, or cashier’s check.

A Commission Contract is required for all commissions! The commission request is not complete until the contract is signed by both parties and the non-refundable deposit has cleared. A sample of the contract is posted below.

Framing: The artwork will be framed and have hanging hardware in place. Framing of the artwork is a requirement and included in the cost of the artwork. Framing will be done by the artist and is at the artist’s discretion. Framing is done to protect the artwork. 

Finish: The art work will be varnished to protect it, is a requirement and included in the cost of the artwork. Varnishing will be done by the artist and is at the artist’s discretion.

Right to Refusal

Right to Refusal: The Customer retains the right to not purchase commissioned artwork at any time. Please note that any money already paid before refusal, will not be refunded to the Customer under these circumstances. This statement relieves The Artist of being indebted to Customer if this occurs. Should this event occur, The Artist may sell the artwork, donate it, destroy it, or use it for another purpose at their discretion. The Customer has the right to not purchase commissioned artwork up until the final one week from completion date (date).

Upon completion: The Artist will supply images of the completed work for approval. If the Customer has not paid in full then the images will be watermarked. These watermarks will not obstruct the view of the artwork so much that the Customer will not be able to determine approval. Once the customer has given their approval the remaining payment/deposit will come due.

Copyright: The Artist retains all copyright of the produced artwork. The customer has permission to share the work publicly, display it privately, and use it for private use only.  Any reproduction of the work, especially reproductions that will be used for profit or commercial uses, is strictly prohibited unless approved by the artist in writing beforehand. Failing to do so is a crime and may result in legal action.

Sharing of Art

Sharing of Art: The Artist may share the artwork for archival, promotion, marketing, or personal use as needed. The public sharing of artwork is vital for marketing purposes of the Artist. This includes, but is not limited to, artwork potentially being displayed on artist’s Facebook, Instagram,Twitter, website, studio, brochures, web and print advertisements and business documents. The Customer consents to the completed work, as well as reference photos, being used for these purposes.

The Customer is allowed to share and display as they will as long as it is not used for profit or commercial uses. When sharing work publicly, the Customer agrees to give the Artist credit though clear and visible labeling, tagging or verbal acknowledgement. If sharing multiple times in one place, one initial credit is sufficient for remaining displays. (For example if the customer posts the artwork on Facebook multiple times, it is only necessary to tag the artist once in the first instance).

Delivery of Physical Art 

Delivery of Physical Art: In person delivery is always preferred over shipping. For physical artworks, delivery will be provided to the Tulare County area free of charge.. Anywhere outside of the Artists driving area will require shipping by mail. This may be upwards of $100 depending on the size and weight of your canvas. If getting artwork shipped, please note that the Artist is not responsible for any possible damage during shipment. The Artist will pack artwork with the finest packing materials for fragile work and label the package “Fragile” but it does not guarantee damage free delivery.  Shipping Insurance can be purchased by the customer ahead of time. The Customer is responsible to pay all shipping and insurance fees.

This contract is governed by California Law. All disputes must be resolved in Tulare County of California, USA.
